Planned research activities
MedResearch Ninja invites medical students, physicians, residents, and research enthusiasts to join a mentored research initiative for the ATS International Conference 2027. We plan to develop and submit approximately 7–10 scientific abstracts and case reports across pulmonary medicine, critical care, and sleep medicine. The final number of submissions depends on participant enrollment, project feasibility, scientific quality, and readiness before the ATS submission deadline. Each enrolled participant is assigned to lead one capstone research project, is eligible for first authorship on that project upon fulfilling applicable ICMJE authorship criteria and substantive academic responsibilities, and may contribute as a co-author on additional submissions based on genuine scholarly contributions. First authorship, additional co-authorship, abstract acceptance, and presentation are not guaranteed, and authorship is never awarded solely through enrollment or payment.
Mentorship and coordination
Structured project timelines and milestones; research topic development and feasibility assessment; standardized research and writing templates; guidance on research methodology and data analysis; scientific writing and abstract preparation; internal peer review and quality assurance; submission coordination and deadline tracking; mentorship throughout the research process.
Included abstract submission fee
One $100 abstract submission fee for the assigned capstone project is included.
Presentation obligations
Participants are not required to attend the conference to contribute to the research team. Accepted submissions, however, must have an eligible designated presenter who registers for the conference and fulfils applicable ATS presentation requirements. Presenter allocation depends on author availability, eligibility, and conference guidelines.
Additional or excluded costs
Not included: ATS conference registration, travel, accommodation, and personal expenses.

Participation and authorship policy
- Each confirmed participant is allocated one mentored capstone project according to the selected conference opportunity's scope and feasibility.
- Participants may have the opportunity to lead their project as first author, provided they fulfil the required scientific responsibilities and applicable ICMJE authorship criteria.
- Additional co-authorship opportunities may be available through meaningful contributions to other projects.
- Participation fees cover structured mentorship, research coordination, scientific guidance, internal review, and any explicitly included abstract submission fees.
- Payment does not purchase authorship or guarantee conference acceptance.
- Authorship roles and abstract outcomes are earned through your scholarly contribution and each conference's independent review. They cannot be promised in advance.
- Conference registration, professional society membership, travel, and accommodation are separate unless expressly included.
Participation through MedResearch Ninja is built around research training, mentorship, and collaborative scientific work. Each conference’s independent review committee decides on abstract acceptance and presentation, and authorship follows actual scholarly contributions under ICMJE criteria, so outcomes reflect the quality of the work you contribute.
