Abstract submission guidelines

Abstracts are submitted to the ACP National Abstract Competitions. Submissions run from 1 October to 12 November 2026 (3:00 PM ET). ACP membership is required for the submitting author, and a $45 submission fee applies to each abstract. An abstract submission pass is bought in the ACP Store first, which then redirects to the Abstract Submission Portal (text only; editable until the deadline). Submitting authors are notified by email in early February 2027 (anticipated 3–5 February 2027). Only the submitting (first) author may present. Always confirm the current terms on the official ACP pages.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about MedResearch Ninja’s conference research collaborations.

Do I need to be an MRN member?

Yes. MRN membership is required for conference research participation. Non-members can purchase membership together with the applicable conference participation fee.

What does the participation fee cover?

The fee supports structured research mentorship, project coordination, methodological guidance, data analysis support where applicable, abstract development, and internal scientific review.

Included submission fees are specified separately for each conference.

Will I receive a project to lead?

Each confirmed participant is allocated one mentored capstone project, subject to scientific feasibility and the selected opportunity’s terms.

Is first authorship guaranteed?

No. First authorship is based on actual scientific contributions and fulfillment of applicable ICMJE authorship criteria.

Can I become a co-author on additional abstracts?

Participants may collaborate on additional abstracts where opportunities exist. Co-authorship depends on substantive contributions and is not guaranteed.

What happens if our abstract is rejected?

If an abstract is rejected, MedResearch Ninja will work with the author team to identify another suitable conference with a similar scientific scope.

Where feasible, MRN will assist with appropriate revisions and coordinate resubmission.

The author team will be responsible for the alternative conference’s abstract submission fee and any other applicable charges.

The original participation fee does not cover subsequent conference submission fees.

Is abstract acceptance guaranteed?

No. Acceptance is determined independently by conference scientific committees.

Do I need previous research experience?

Not necessarily. Many opportunities accommodate beginners, although some may require existing data, suitable cases, or prior research experience due to submission timelines.

Do I need to attend the conference?

Not always. Research participation may be possible without attending, but an eligible author may be required to register and present accepted work, depending on the conference’s rules.

Are conference registration and travel included?

No. Registration, travel, accommodation, and required society memberships are separate unless explicitly included.

Can I participate in multiple conferences?

Yes, subject to eligibility, availability, and the ability to fulfill project responsibilities. Each conference requires separate enrollment and payment.

What happens after enrollment?

After payment verification and any required approval, participants receive onboarding instructions and access to the conference-specific WhatsApp group, where project coordination and updates take place.

Conference participants are not assigned to Project Rooms.

What if all spots are filled?

Enrollment closes when capacity is reached. Where available, applicants may join a waitlist.

What if I cannot complete my assigned tasks?

Contact the MRN coordination team promptly. Adjustments may be considered where feasible. Authorship eligibility depends on actual contributions.

Can international participants join?

Yes, provided they meet the selected opportunity’s eligibility requirements and can fulfill their responsibilities.

Can I receive a refund if an abstract is rejected?

Abstract rejection does not automatically qualify for a refund. Refund eligibility is governed by the applicable published MRN refund policy.

How can I contact the team?
